Lasagna is one of the most delicious dinners around and we are eliminating a lot of the work, but none of the flavor, in making this lasagna skillet. Italian sausage, healthy spinach and cheese are all mixed in with classic noodles and sauce, resulting in a skillet that is going to be a big hit in your home.
MEAL KIT CONTENTS:
8 oz Italian Sausage
6 oz lasagna noodles
14 oz can tomato sauce
1 oz tomato paste
2 oz Zesty Italian Blend
2 oz garlic onion blend
6 oz spinach
8 oz cheese blend
2 oz basil

KITCHEN ITEMS NEED:
Large pot to cook pasta
Large oven safe skillet or large skillet and oven safe dish
Cutting board and knife

Preheat the broiler
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil
Break lasagna noodles into large chunks
Coarsely chop spinach
Open can of tomato sauce
Remove sausage from casing, break up & place in bowl
Remove basil leaves from stem and roughly chop
Step 1: Cook the Noodles
Once water is boiling, add noodles to pot and cook until al dente, 8-10 minutes. Drain noodles in a colander and set aside. While noodles boil, cook sausage.
Step 2: Cook the Sausage
Place a oven-safe skillet (if available) over medium heat. Heat a drizzle of olive oil and then add the sausage and garlic onion blend. Stir often, breaking up with a spoon, until no pink remains, about 4-6 minutes (you can use a regular skillet if you are baking the pasta in an oven safe dish).
Step 3: Make the Sauce
Add tomato paste and cook for another 30 seconds. Add spinach and Italian blend to pan. Stir constantly until spinach is wilted, 30-60 seconds. Stir in can of tomato sauce and remove from burner. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Broil the Lasagna
Stir lasagna noodles into sauce. Top with half of cheese blend. Place pan under broiler and broil until cheese is melted, 2-3 minutes.
Step 5: To Serve
You can serve this dish family style right out of the skillet or divide onto plates. Sprinkle with the rest of the cheese blend and chopped basil. Bon appétit!
